Austin Polen has been doodling on note pads ever since he could remember. His love for art continued through high school and upon graduation, he decided to become a tattoo artist. After realizing a career in the tattoo industry was no longer his desire, he got into dirt kart racing and painted his first helmet. It immediately ignited a flame within him and he ran with it. With no college or graphic design experience, Polen Designs was created in early 2010 and has since painted for some of the world’s best drivers and riders in IndyCar, NASCAR, NHRA, American Flat Track, sprint car and everything in between. Because of what Austin does, no two designs are ever the same. Each of Austin’s customers help him express his passion for art and racing every day and have really broadened his abilities in the world of custom paint and design. 

Although helmets are the “bread and butter” of Polen Designs, Austin’s abilities do not stop there. His portfolio includes fully custom painted motorcycles, welding and bull riding helmets, automotive and hotrod graphics, pinstriping, and many design concepts for various projects. Everyday is a vacation when he steps in the door of the Polen Designs headquarters in small-town Indiana.
